Due to the proliferation of Information and Communication (ICT) and Internet Technologies, the manufacturing industry is undergoing substantial transformations. Not only are physical products more custom-developed for customer requirements but software and services are increasingly being used within production environments. To keep pace with the needs of the manufacturing industry of the future, companies need to flexibly react to changing demands and be able to manage production capacities in a rapid and efficient way requiring agile collaboration among supply chain partners. Innovative solutions to allow industrial companies to incorporate faster and more efficient decision making looking for a better use of manufacturing assets are demanded.

This Industrial workshop, organised by CREMA and C2NET H2020 EU projects, is intended to present future trends of European Industry especially those related to digitalization technologies applied to manufacturing. High levels speakers from the Basque Government (Alexander Arriola – General Manager of SPRI), the European Commission (Oscar Lázaro Managing Director of Innovalia Association), and the Industry sector (Eduardo Beltrán de Nanclares – Director of Innovation and Technology of the Mondragon Corporation and Stefan Zimmermann – Head of Center of Excellence Industrie 4.0 in ATOS International) will give their expert vision.

Moreover, CREMA and C2NET will present findings generated in both projects highlighting their approaches to meet above challenges.
